It was all the buzz at this year’s Florida Bar Annual Convention. The Section will be implementing it in several areas. And, of course, the CLE Committee wanted to join the fun! The Committee has revamped its monthly telephonic CLEs and will begin using a webinar format. What does this mean for you?
First, under the new webinar format, the speaker has the option of recording the presentation. If you have an oral argument or hearing during the presentation, don’t fret! You now have the ability to hear the presentation at a later time. If you purchase the bundle or the individual CLE in advance, you will have access to the presentation for up to 90 days. The CLEs are available for advance individual purchase for $30 for section members and $45 for non-section members. Section members can also purchase all ten presentations in a bundle at a discounted rate of $240. If you do not purchase the presentations in advance, the recorded CLEs will be available for individual purchase on the Florida Bar’s Website for an increased price. However, there is always the possibility that a CLE will not be recorded, so it’s best to purchase them in advance.
Second, the webinar format allows the speakers to use outlines and PowerPoints to assist in their presentations. So, no more chasing down the materials the speaker references during his or her presentation; they will be available to you.
The Committee is so excited about this change that we have already planned the entire 2017-2018 season. This season covers a broad range of topics from a wide array of speakers. We have included two programs which we hope will qualify for the new technology credit required by the Bar. The schedule is:
