The Appellate Practice Section’s Pro Bono Committee is pleased to announce a pro bono partnership with Catholic Legal Services (CLS) in Miami to provide pro bono appellate representation in immigration appeals. The lawyers of CLS work tirelessly on behalf of unaccompanied minors and family units in the Immigration Court. But they do not have the funding to handle the increased appellate load.
Now more than ever, the refugee and immigrant community serviced by CLS need appellate representation. Appellate lawyers have the unique ability to make a difference without ever stepping foot in the Immigration Court. With the institutional support and knowledge of CLS, Appellate Practice Section members can utilize their appellate skills to help fill this desperate need.
Anyone interested in receiving the no-commitment notices of these opportunities, and other pro bono appellate opportunities, can contact Committee Chairs Joe Eagleton (jeagleton@bhappeals.com) and Eric Netcher (enetcher@wrgn-law.com) to be added to the pro bono list-serve.
